Emmanuel

Emmanuel Hamez

CEO, Expresso, Senegal

Emmanuel was appointed Chief Executive of Expresso Senegal in September 2011. He will continue building and growing the business in Senegal by implementing a highly motivated and loyal team, and a customer-centric strategy.

Emmanuel has over 20 years experience in the telecommunication sector. He started his career as a Project Engineer in 1986 with France Telecom. He then spent some time with Air France and Total before returning to the telecommunication sector with SFR in August 1994.

Prior to joining Sudatel in January 2006, Emmanuel was the General Manager at Mobitel where he was instrumental in launching Sudan’s first GSM network. He then spent three years at Celtel in Congo and Amsterdam before returning to Sudan as Sudatel’s Chief Technology Officer.

In December 2007, Emmanuel was appointed as the Chief Executive of Expresso Senegal where he was responsible for the installation and launch of the CDMA network. In January 2009 he was appointed as Chief Executive of Sudani Mobile in Khartoum.

Emmanuel graduated from Ecole Nationale des Telecommunications de Paris in 1986 as an Engineer.

Abdulrahman Osman

CEO, Chinguitel, Mauritania

Abdulrahman was appointed Chief Executive of Chinguitel on 1 July 2009.  He has successfully grown the business in Mauritania since his appointment.  He is now focused on launching a new 3G network and building a sustainable business in Mauritania. 

He spent the early part of his career as a Sales Manager for Siemens in Sudan where he was instrumental in winning the contract for fibre connectivity between Sudan and Ethiopia.

Prior to joining Chinguitel, Abdulrahman was the General Manager for Digitech Telecom where he positioned the company to be the number one distributor of handsets in Sudan, Senegal and Mauritania.

Abdulrahman graduated from the University of Khartoum with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and Statistics.  He also holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University.

El Amir Ahmed El Amir Yousif

CEO, Expresso, Ghana

El Amir was appointed CEO of Expresso Ghana in September 2011. Prior to this appointment, he was CEO of Expresso Senegal for two years during which, in June 2010, he successfully launched 3G services. He now focuses on growing market share and building our brand in Ghana.

El Amir has over 22 years experience in the telecommunication sector.  He started his career in 1987 with Sudan’s national carrier, Sudan Telecommunications Public Corporation, now known as Sudatel Telecom. 

Along with many project management roles during his career at Sudatel, he was a Planning Manager for more than eight years.  He was also part of the original team that launched Sudatel’s first mobile network, now known as SudaniOne.

In 2007, El Amir was appointed as the Chief Technology Officer of Chinguitel in Mauritania where he was responsible for the installation and launch of the CDMA network.  Later in the same year he was appointed as Chief Executive of Chinguitel.

El Amir graduated from the Sudan Telecommunication Institute with a High Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering.
