El Amir Ahmed El Amir Yousif

CEO, Expresso, Senegal

El Amir was appointed Chief Executive of Expresso Senegal in July 2009.  He is focused on building and growing the business in Senegal by implementing a highly motivated and loyal customer-centric team.  The highlight of his stewardship thus far is the successful launch of 3G services in June 2010.

El Amir has over 22 years experience in the telecommunication sector.  He started his career in 1987 with Sudan’s national carrier, Sudan Telecommunications Public Corporation, now known as Sudatel Telecom. 

Along with many project management roles during his career at Sudatel, he was a Planning Manager for more than eight years.  He was also part of the original team that launched Sudatel’s first mobile network, now known as SudaniOne.

In 2007, El Amir was appointed as the Chief Technology Officer of Chinguitel in Mauritania where he was responsible for the installation and launch of the CDMA network.  Later in the same year he was appointed as Chief Executive of Chinguitel.

El Amir graduated from the Sudan Telecommunication Institute with a High Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering.

Abdulrahman Osman

CEO, Chinguitel, Mauritania

Abdulrahman was appointed Chief Executive of Chinguitel on 1 July 2009.  He has successfully grown the business in Mauritania since his appointment.  He is now focused on launching a new 3G network and building a sustainable business in Mauritania. 

He spent the early part of his career as a Sales Manager for Siemens in Sudan where he was instrumental in winning the contract for fibre connectivity between Sudan and Ethiopia.

Prior to joining Chinguitel, Abdulrahman was the General Manager for Digitech Telecom where he positioned the company to be the number one distributor of handsets in Sudan, Senegal and Mauritania.

Abdulrahman graduated from the University of Khartoum with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and Statistics.  He also holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University.

Hisham Ayoub

CEO, Expresso, Ghana

Hisham was appointed Chief Executive of Expresso Ghana in March 2010. He is responsible for the future growth of the business in Ghana.  Under his leadership the company has successfully rebranded from Kasapa to Expresso.

He spent the early part of his career as a Depot Engineer, Retail Engineer, Installation Engineer, Lubricants Technical Advisor, and Lubricants Manager at Shell in both Sudan and Kenya. 

Hisham then went on to manage the Blue Nile Dairy in Sudan.  Under his leadership, the company became the largest Dairy in Sudan with 70% market share.  For his achievements, he was awarded the Sudanese Medal of Excellence by President Omar Basher.   

Prior to joining Expresso Ghana, Hisham was a Sales Director for Zain Sudan.

Hisham graduated from the University of Khartoum with an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ibrahim Eissa El-Baigawi

CEO, Intercellular, Nigeria

Ibrahim was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Intercellular Nigeria Plc in January 2009.  He is currently focused on expanding and upgrading the existing CDMA network to cover strategic areas within Nigeria.  Providing reliable and high quality data services will form the foundations for a successful business in Nigeria.  

Ibrahim has over 27 years experience in the telecommunications sector.  He started his career in 1983 with Sudan’s national carrier, Sudan Telecommunications Public Corporation (“STPC”), now known as Sudatel Telecom Group. 

Along with many project management roles, he was General Manager: Transmission, General Manager: Rural Telecoms and Chief Technical Officer during his career at Sudatel.  He was also a part of the original team that launched Sudatel’s first mobile network, now known as SudaniOne.

In order to continuously improve and maintain his professional development, Ibrahim has actively engaged in various learning and development programmes across America, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.  He has published papers in various magazines, most notably the ITU website, a leading United Nations agency for information and communication technology issues.

Ibrahim graduated from the University of Khartoum in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  In 1991, he also attained a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university.
